The Bain Marie Moonshine Still - 4 inch copper flute still comes with a 4 inch column that rests on top of the beautiful copper lined jacketed boiler. The column comes fully equipped with 3 digital thermometers that read temperature at the still head, dephlegmator and product condenser. the sight glasses at the bubble plates allow for viewing of the distillation process.
This unit is a scaled down version of what distilleries use and provides unsurpassed gentle heating. It comes with a steel-clad sight tube so you can see the oil level in the jacket, as well as a pressure relief valve, pressure gauge, thermometer and drain. The insulated jacket accepts canola oil or mineral oil and should be filled only halfway, to leave room for expansion. The boiler can be heated with our 220V electric heater.

This reflux still will produce up to 94% ethanol and can also be run as a pot still. Proof output varies from 90 - 185 depending on how you run the still. For flavored spirits, run this still without the included packing. For high proof, pack the column and insulate it.
The operating principles of this unit are simple. Vapor rises through the packing until it passes through the top of the separator. At this point it hits the coil condenser and is transformed into a liquid. It then falls into the collection cup where it can be recycled back to the column for increased purity, or it can be released through the product cooler and collected as a final product. Product release rate can be controlled with the needle valve above the product cooler. The unit can be operated without the needle valve for fastest operation when doing a stripping run. The product cooler is fully adjustable and can be set up at any angle you like.

This unit is a compound still, cooling management design. Cooling water flow is split between two condensers and is fully controllable with the two included valves. This gives the user complete control of the still. It can be run in full reflux mode by allowing full flow to the dephlegmator, or it can be run as a pot still by using no column packing and by running no cooling water to the dephlegmator.
